The Problem

The road is rutted/polished yet still has adequate structural capabilities. There are not enough financial resources to go with a conventional mill (1½”) and fill (paving) project.

THE SOLUTION

Micro-Milling (full lane width) offers the ability to mill off only the high spots to reduce or even eliminate ruts yet can daylight (zero inches milling depth) at the healthy pavement interface. It offers a “tight” milling pattern that does not create an unsafe and very coarse travel surface like conventional milling patterns. This process can be utilized for line/stripe removal in preparation for thin wearing courses such as surface treatment, Metro-Mat, and micro-surfacing while also gaining the benefit of creating/restoring a proper cross slope to the road.

THE BENEFITS

• Akin to conventional milling from a procedural standpoint except it moves at much greater speed (allowing for fewer user delays) and creates a much finer, more useful byproduct
• Can be left alone after micro-milling or amenable to a thin treatment application afterwards
• Like truing and leveling a road in reverse
